Getting Involved Through ADTSEA-FL's Core Functions

Driving Conversation Roundtable Recap – June 2025

ADTSEA‑FL convened a statewide Driving Conversation in early June to share the findings from months of listening sessions and roundtables. Driver Education professionals from across Florida participated in a strategic discussion on the future structure and functions of ADTSEA‑FL as a unifying force in the field.

Listening to Florida’s Driver Education Community

Since January, ADTSEA-FL has hosted multiple virtual roundtables with public school leaders, commercial school owners, traffic safety advocates, and government partners. These forums revealed consistent needs across the field—from better professional development and instructor certification to support for neurodiverse learners and accessible funding guidance.

Key Priorities Identified

  • Best Practices Repository: A shared database of curriculum, tools, and teaching strategies.
  • Statewide Conference: Interest in an annual in-person event with tracks for all provider types.
  • Instructor Training: On-demand and CEU workshops for both public and private instructors.
  • Advocacy: A unified voice on funding equity and driver education policy, including Dori Slosberg funds.
  • Student & Program Support: Resources for accommodations, range access, and parent communication.
  • Technology Integration: Tools for telematics, simulators, and data tracking.

Next Steps

Attendees were invited to help lead one of several new committees: Instructor Training, Conference Planning, Technology & Curriculum, Funding & Vehicles, and Advocacy & Outreach. These working groups will help implement the ideas generated across Florida’s Driving Conversations.
